Rough Cut Lumber

We stock many species of rough cut lumber in many forms from large cants to sheet goods. Our rough cut lumber is already dried and ready for use in sizes large enough for massive log cabin parts, decorative beams , or dramatic rustic building members. We also stock smaller rough sawn boards ideal for siding, flooring, or the perfect start for woodworkers.

We are lumber enthusiasts and can often find lumber solutions for our customers that simply don't exist any where else. Do you need a 12" x 14" piece of White Pine 20 feet long? It exists and we have it. We currently have the following rough cut lumber species in stock:

Rough Sawn Lumber

Simply put, rough sawn lumber is lumber that has been cut at the mill but not processed through all the steps that create the smooth dimensionally undersized lumber that can be found at any lumber retailer. Rough cut lumber has the potential to serve virtually any lumber need you would have and is limited only by how you choose to process and finish it.

The term lumber, decribes milled wood more than 2 inches thick. Wood that is thinner than 2 inches is actually called a board. When looking for rough cut lumber, inquire about the current moisture content. A general rule for air drying "green" lumber is one year per inch of thickness. A kiln can be used to speed this process dramatically. Unless you request otherwise, the lumber we sell is already at a 10 to 12 percent moisture content.

We can provide the rough cut lumber that most people think doesn't exist and we are committed to the health and integrity of our forests. We are happy to help tradesmen to hobbyists and enjoy working with people who appreciate the beauty of our specialty products as much as we do.
